I’m trying to buy a survival kit that’s actually good value, not just a plastic box stuffed with gimmicks. Use case is mostly: car emergency kit + day hikes, and maybe a basic “grab and go” option for storms/power outages. Budget is flexible but I don’t want to pay for brand hype.
When people say “best value for money,” do you mean a premade kit that’s ready out of the box, or buying a pouch and building it yourself? Also—what items are truly worth paying extra for (tourniquet, flashlight, fire kit, water filter, etc.) vs what’s fine cheap? Looking for specific kit recommendations or a shortlist of components that make a kit a good deal.
