I’ve been reading up on everything from WWII armor to modern drone warfare, and I keep circling back to the same question: which single military vehicle actually changed warfare the most?
Part of me thinks it’s the tank because it reshaped ground maneuver, but then you’ve got the aircraft carrier changing power projection, helicopters changing air mobility, and now UAVs influencing reconnaissance and strike. I’m not looking for “coolest vehicle,” more like biggest doctrinal shift and long-term impact.
If you had to pick one (or one “family,” like jeeps/trucks vs heavy armor), what would it be—and why? Examples from specific wars are welcome.
