I’m putting together notes for a terrain/mobility discussion and I keep getting conflicting answers on jungle operations. When people say “best military vehicle for jungle environments,” do they mean a light 4x4, a tracked carrier, an armored vehicle that can take hits, or something amphibious?
Context: I’m thinking of dense rainforest—narrow tracks, mud, roots, steep little climbs, lots of water crossings, and limited line of sight. Also the practical stuff: maintenance in humidity, fuel resupply, recovery when you get stuck, and whether the vehicle can fit on local bridges or improvised routes.
If you had to pick one platform type (or a couple) that actually performs well in jungle environments, what would you choose and why?
