I’m rebuilding my kit for weekend range days and occasional camping, and I realized my flashlight situation is a mess: one cheap zoomie that flickers, one heavy old light that eats batteries, and a phone light that’s basically a last resort.
I’m not chasing “max lumens” marketing. I want best value for money: reliable, decent runtime, simple UI, and something that can take bumps and rain. Bonus points if it works with common batteries (AA/AAA/18650/CR123A) and if mounts/holsters aren’t impossible to find.
If you had to recommend 1–2 lights that punch above their price for a practical military-style loadout (EDC + field backup), what would you pick and why?
