I keep seeing people argue about “the most advanced air force” and it turns into a one-liner like “USA, obviously” or “no, it’s X because stealth.” I’m trying to understand it in a more grounded way.
When people say “advanced,” do they mean the aircraft themselves (F-35, F-22, Rafale, J-20, etc.), or the whole system like pilot training hours, tankers, AWACS, logistics, weapons stockpiles, electronic warfare, satellites, and combat experience?
If you had to pick one country as operating the most advanced air force today, who is it and why? And if you think the answer changes by mission (air superiority vs strike vs air defense vs expeditionary), I’d love to hear that breakdown too.
