Which armored vehicle would you trust most in combat?

I’ve been down a rabbit hole watching recent combat footage, reading after-action reports, and arguing with friends about “the best armored vehicle.” I know there’s no single answer because mission, terrain, enemy (ATGMs, mines, drones), and support all matter.

But if you had to pick ONE armored vehicle to ride into a real fight—assuming a competent crew and standard support (infantry, engineers, basic air defense where available)—which would you trust most and why? I’m thinking in terms of survivability, crew awareness, reliability, and the odds of making it back when things go wrong. Tank vs IFV vs APC vs MRAP is all on the table.

Not looking for fanboy answers—talk me through the tradeoffs and what changed your mind over time.

I trust the armored vehicle that’s designed to work with unmanned teammates. The near-future answer isn’t “one vehicle,” it’s a manned platform commanding a cloud of robots.

Picture an MBT/IFV that sends unmanned ground vehicles forward to probe for mines, bait AT teams, and extend sensors around corners, while small drones map rooftops and tree lines. That reduces the chances the manned vehicle is the first thing seen and shot.

So today: modern MBT with APS + excellent sensors. Tomorrow: the same, but tightly integrated with UGV scouts, autonomous resupply, and counter-UAS. The more you can push risk onto unmanned systems, the more any armored vehicle becomes “trustworthy.”
