I’m rebuilding my field kit and trying to stop carrying “three tools that kinda overlap.” I’m not looking for a single magic multitool, more like an ideal multitools setup: what do you pair together so you can handle basic repairs, gear fixes, and maintenance without turning your pockets into a toolbox?
Context: mostly range days, hiking, and occasional vehicle/gear tinkering. I don’t want anything sketchy or overly heavy, but I also hate when a multitool is missing the one thing you actually need (real scissors, a driver that doesn’t strip, etc.).
If you had to build a practical multitools setup for a modern tactical/military-style loadout—belt, pack, admin pouch—what would you run and why? Specific categories are fine (pliers-based tool + small bit driver, etc.).
