I’m rebuilding my field kit and realized my “combat shirt situation” is kind of random: one old issued top, one commercial shirt that fits weird under a carrier, and a couple base layers that don’t breathe.
If you could build an ideal combat shirt setup from scratch, what would it look like (materials, cut, sleeve pockets, elbow pads/no pads, hot vs cold weather options, colors/patterns)? I’m mostly thinking training days and field exercises where you’re in and out of vehicles, wearing a plate carrier, and still want something that won’t shred or soak.
Not asking for anything mission-sensitive—just trying to make smart purchases and stop wasting money on “tactical” stuff that isn’t comfortable after hour 6. What’s your ideal setup and why?
