I’m putting together my first “real” medical kit and I’m realizing there’s a huge gap between a little home first aid box and all the tactical/IFAK stuff online. I’m not in the military—just doing more range days, camping, and road trips—and I want something that’s actually useful if something goes wrong.
I’m seeing tons of kits with big marketing claims, random brands on Amazon, and lists of items I don’t recognize. Before I spend money, what should a beginner focus on? Like: what matters for quality, what’s realistic to carry, how do you choose between a basic first aid kit vs an IFAK/trauma kit, and what are the common mistakes people make when buying? Also any tips on storage/expiration so it doesn’t turn into a useless bag of old supplies?
