I’m trying to get into naval history and modern navies, but I’m honestly not sure where to start. I’ve watched random clips on YouTube about aircraft carriers and submarines and now I want something more structured that’s still beginner-friendly.
I’m looking for documentaries that explain the basics (what different ship types do, how fleets operate, why certain battles mattered) without assuming you already know all the jargon. WWII stuff is fine, Cold War is interesting, and I’m also curious about modern operations like carriers, ASW, and submarines.
What naval documentary would you recommend to beginners, and why? If there’s a series order you’d suggest, that would help too.
