I’m putting together a survival kit for my truck and also a smaller one for day hikes. I’ve watched a bunch of videos and now I’m second-guessing everything—some kits look “tactical” but feel like junk, and others are super expensive but I’m not sure what’s actually worth it.
What mistakes do people commonly make when choosing survival kits? Like the stuff you only learn after using it (or after it fails). I’m not trying to be a hero—just want something realistic for bad weather, breakdowns, getting turned around on a trail, etc. Also curious if there are “red flags” that a pre-made kit is basically a gimmick.
