I’m trying to update my kit and realized gloves have changed a lot from the old thick leather / generic “tactical” stuff I grew up seeing. Now I’m seeing flame-resistant models, touchscreen fingertips, knuckle protection, ultra-thin trigger gloves, and even gloves marketed for drone operators.
For people who follow military gear trends: what trends are actually driving these changes? Is it mostly training doctrine, new weapons/rails, vehicle ops, UAV work, cold weather programs, or just procurement cycles? I’m not looking for a brand war—more like what’s changing on the battlefield or in day-to-day military work that’s changing glove requirements.
