I’m putting more hours into wearing uniforms for training and range days (not active duty, just trying to be squared away and consistent). I’ve tried a couple different cuts and fabrics and I keep learning small things the hard way—hot spots from seams, pockets that look useful but aren’t, and how fast a “clean” uniform turns into a dust magnet.
For those who’ve actually lived in uniforms (or studied how armies improved them), what lessons have you learned using uniforms? Stuff like fit, layering, how you set up pockets, care/maintenance, what matters in the field vs. what looks good in garrison, and mistakes you’d tell a newer person to avoid. I’m mostly interested in practical takeaways that apply across different uniform types and climates.
