I’m putting together a vehicle/bug-out style kit and I keep seeing the same “tactical survival kit” bundles all over Amazon and even some military-looking brands. Tons of items, fancy MOLLE pouch, ferro rod, mini compass, wire saw, credit-card tools, etc. It looks impressive, but I’m skeptical it’s mostly marketing.
I’m not trying to start a brand war—just want to avoid wasting money on a kit that looks good on a shelf but fails when you actually need it. In your experience, what are the most overrated survival kits on the market, and what are the common red flags that give them away?
