I’m trying to get a realistic answer, not a recruiting brochure. I’ve been looking at navy career fields and I keep hearing different takes: “submarines are the worst,” “flight deck is constant risk,” “EOD is basically a lottery,” etc.
If you had to name the most dangerous job in a navy (or rank a few), what would you pick and why? I’m thinking about day-to-day risk (accidents, training, maintenance) AND wartime risk (combat exposure). Also curious if the answer changes depending on whether it’s a carrier navy vs smaller fleets.
