I’ve been reading about different military diver pipelines (combat diver, clearance diver, SEAL stuff, etc.) and I’m trying to understand what people consider the *hardest military diving course* overall.
I’m not in the military—just a civilian who scuba dives recreationally and follows SOF training. I keep seeing people argue “BUD/S is the hardest,” others say “combat diver school is the real gut check,” and then some point to clearance divers/EOD divers because the tasks are so technical and high-risk.
If you had to compare across countries and mission sets, what course is generally regarded as the hardest and why? Is it about physical suffering, water confidence, academics, mission complexity, attrition, or something else?
