I’ve been going down a rabbit hole on wheeled armored vehicles (APCs/IFVs) and I keep seeing people argue past each other because they’re really talking about different missions.
If you had to pick a “best” wheeled armored vehicle today—something a modern army could actually field in numbers—what would you choose and why? I’m thinking about real-world stuff like reliability, protection, mobility on bad roads, maintenance/logistics, and how well it adapts (RWS, turret options, C4ISR, EW kits, etc.).
Curious where folks land between vehicles like Boxer, Patria AMV, Stryker, VBCI, Piranha, and the older Soviet/Russian lines. Also: does “best” change if the fight is Ukraine-style artillery/drone heavy versus expeditionary deployments?
