I’m trying to improve my stamina for a military-style fitness goal (think longer runs, rucks, and being able to keep moving without gassing out). Right now I can jog easy for about 20–25 minutes, but anything faster or longer and I hit a wall. I also notice my legs feel fine but my breathing/heart rate spikes and I lose the pace.
What’s the best way to build stamina in a way that actually transfers to real “operational” fitness (running, carrying load, long workouts), not just one type of cardio? I can train 4–5 days a week, and I’m open to running, intervals, circuits, rucking, etc. Looking for a simple plan structure and common mistakes to avoid.
