I’m trying to pick a watch that actually makes sense for military use, not a “tactical-looking” fashion piece. I’m around water sometimes, do a lot of time-on-task stuff where I need quick readouts, and I’m hard on gear (knocks, sand, sweat, cold mornings). I’m torn between going simple/analog (less to break) vs digital (timers, alarms) vs something like a Garmin (GPS, training stats) but I don’t want to be constantly charging it.
What models have you used that held up in the field? Any must-have features (backlight, tritium, sapphire, bezel, vibration alarms), and any brands to avoid? I’m in the US if that matters for availability.
