I’m trying to pick a couple combat shirts for actual field/training use and I’m getting lost in all the options. I’m not chasing “operator” hype, I just want something that holds up under plates, doesn’t cook me in hot weather, and won’t fall apart after crawling or repeated washing.
Use case: range days, ruck-based training, some field time in mixed temps (warm days, cooler nights). I usually run a plate carrier and sling, and I care a lot about collar comfort and sleeve durability. I’m average build and I’ve had issues with shirts either being too tight in the chest/shoulders or the sleeves being baggy.
What combat shirts have you had the best luck with for military use (or military-style training)? What should I look for in fabric blends, elbow reinforcement, and sizing? Also open to budget-friendly picks if they’re genuinely solid.
