I’m training up with the goal of attempting selection in the next year (not asking for anything sensitive, just trying to be realistic). I’ve been reading a lot and it sounds like plenty of people show up strong and motivated, then still get dropped.

For those who’ve been around this stuff: what actually causes most candidates to fail selection? Is it mainly physical fitness, injuries, land nav mistakes, mental toughness, attitude, or something else? If there’s a “top 3” that keeps happening, I’d appreciate the blunt version so I can focus my prep the right way.
