I’m putting together a tighter everyday kit that can also live in my range bag and occasionally ride on a plate carrier or pack. I’ve owned a couple cheap multitools that ended up with loose pivots, stripped bits, or a blade that wouldn’t lock up right after a few months.
What brands are actually the most reliable long-term? I’m less worried about having 40 tools and more about strong pliers, decent cutters, a driver that doesn’t wobble, and something that won’t rust out if it sits in a humid garage. Also curious if there’s a meaningful difference between the “tactical/military” marketed versions and the normal ones.
If you’ve got specific models you trust (or brands you won’t buy again), I’d appreciate it.
