I’m trying to buy one pair of boots I can trust for a long time instead of rotating through cheap pairs every season. I’m not active duty, but I do a lot of hiking, range days, and volunteer work outdoors where my feet are wet, dusty, or on rough ground for hours. I’ve worn a few “tactical” boots that looked the part but the soles delaminated or the stitching blew out way too fast.
When people ask “what brands make the most reliable boots,” what do you all actually mean by reliable—stitching, outsole life, comfort after 10+ hours, or consistency from pair to pair? I’m open to military-style boots or quality hiking boots, but I prefer something that can take abuse, has decent support, and isn’t a fashion piece. Brand suggestions (and specific models) appreciated, along with what conditions you’ve tested them in.
