I’m trying to get smarter about hearing protection before I build bad habits. I’ve done a handful of range days and a couple of noisy training events (indoor range, outdoor with steel, and one day around vehicles), and I’m realizing I’ve been inconsistent—sometimes foam plugs, sometimes cheap muffs, sometimes “it’ll be fine for one mag” (yeah, I know).
I’m not asking for medical advice, just looking for real-world experiences: what actually worked for you long-term? Foam vs molded plugs, electronic muffs, doubling up, comfort under a helmet, how you handled comms/commands, and what you wish you did earlier. Also curious about the “tactical” marketing—any of it legit, or mostly hype?
