I keep hearing people say modern armies are "the most capable ever," but then you watch recent conflicts and see units stalled by simple stuff: drones, supply issues, bad comms, slow decision-making, or politics.

And pilot training pipelines are long. You can surge sorties for a while, but you can’t surge experienced aviators overnight.
