I’m trying to improve explosive power for military-style fitness (short bursts, getting over obstacles, carrying awkward weight, quick accelerations). I’m not chasing a bodybuilding look—more like “move fast under load.”
Right now I lift 3x/week and run 2x/week. My strength is decent (squat and deadlift are okay), but I feel “slow” on sprints, box jumps, and anything that requires a quick pop. I’ve read a ton of conflicting stuff: Olympic lifts vs plyometrics vs kettlebell swings vs just sprinting more.
What are the best exercises for explosive power that actually transfer to military tasks? And how do you program them without wrecking your knees/ankles? I’m open to gym or field-based options. Not looking for medical advice—just solid training direction.
