I’m putting together a small “grab and go” kit for weekend range days and occasional hiking, nothing high-speed. I don’t want to drop $150+ on a light, but I also don’t want a junky one that flickers or breaks if it gets bumped around in a pack.
What are the best budget-friendly flashlights you’d actually trust? Looking for something compact enough for pocket/pack, decent throw for spotting stuff out to maybe 50–100 yards, and ideally simple controls (I hate getting lost in modes). Rechargeable is a plus but not required. Bonus points if it can take a little rain and rough handling. What models/brands should I look at, and what should I avoid?
