Putting together a more realistic med kit setup for range days and camping, and I’m realizing the kit itself is only half the equation. I’ve got a basic IFAK-style pouch with the usual supplies, but I’m unsure what accessories actually make it faster to use under stress (or in the dark) without turning my belt/pack into a Christmas tree.
What accessories pair best with medical kits in a practical way? Thinking things like pouch placement, external tourniquet holders, trauma shears, gloves, marker, tape, chest seal protection, small light, etc. Also curious what you keep on the outside vs inside so you can get to it quickly. Not looking for medical instructions—more like gear organization, durability, and what’s proven useful.
