I’m putting together a more reliable navigation setup for rucks and range days. Right now I’m running a handheld GPS (sometimes a phone app as backup), but I’m realizing the GPS by itself isn’t the full solution.
What accessories actually make a GPS unit better in the field—mounting, power, protective stuff, antennas, mapping, whatever? I’m interested in a practical, modern military-style loadout (rugged, not bulky). Also curious what’s “nice to have” vs “must have” if you’re trying to keep weight down.
