I’ve been restoring an old utility truck and I’m debating whether to keep it in a plain single-color finish or do a proper camo pattern (something NATO-ish). But it also got me thinking beyond looks: in 2026, with drones, thermal cameras, and all the sensors out there, does vehicle camouflage still meaningfully matter?
I’m not talking about “movie stealth,” more like real-world value: visual concealment, breaking up the outline, dust/mud effects, and whether modern paint/finishes actually help against IR/thermal. If you’ve got experience or sources, I’d love to hear what still works, what’s outdated, and what’s mostly for morale/tradition.
