I’m trying to take my fitness and overall readiness more seriously and I keep hearing “sleep is training” from different people. I get the basics, but I’m curious how big the impact really is for military performance (PT scores, rucking, marksmanship, attention to detail, staying calm under stress).

My situation: I work early shifts, I’m usually at 5–6 hours on weekdays, then I “catch up” on weekends. Some nights it’s hard to wind down after late workouts or scrolling.
