I’m trying to set a realistic standard for my bug-out bag and I keep seeing everything from “72 hours” to “get home bag” to “live in the woods for weeks.”

My situation: suburban area, likely routes are a mix of neighborhoods, light industrial, and a river trail system. My main “safe place” would be a friend’s property about 25–30 miles away if roads were a mess.
