I keep seeing “Spetsnaz” used like it’s one single unit, and people online argue they’re either unstoppable or totally overrated. I’m not military, just trying to understand the realistic comparison with Western special forces (SEALs, SAS, Delta, etc.).

What I’m wondering is: are the differences mainly training quality, funding, doctrine, and combat experience—or is it more about mission types and which units you’re actually talking about? Also, does modern Ukraine-era combat change how we should compare them (drones, EW, precision fires)? I’d appreciate a grounded breakdown without the movie hype.
