I’m putting together a small sustainment stash for range days, hurricane season, and a few weekend field trips. I’ve got a mix of MREs, some freeze-dried pouches, energy bars, and a couple older “forgotten” rations from a surplus run.
What’s the right way to maintain and care for rations so they actually last? I’m mainly worried about heat in a garage, packaging getting punctured, and not realizing something’s gone bad until I’m already out in the woods. Do you guys label/rotate, store in bins, keep them inside climate control, etc.? Also—any quick checks you do before packing them for a trip?
