I’m trying to get better about maintaining my gloves instead of just replacing them when they start smelling bad or the palms get stiff.
I rotate between a pair of synthetic tactical gloves (range/training), a leather work glove (moving gear, light vehicle work), and a thicker cold-weather glove. After a few weekends at the range and some rainy days, they get sweaty, gritty, and the Velcro seems to lose bite. I’ve also noticed leather gets hard if I air-dry it wrong.
What’s your routine for cleaning, drying, and storing gloves so they last? Any do’s/don’ts for leather vs synthetic, and how do you deal with odor without wrecking the materials?
