I’ve been reading a lot about special operations and I keep seeing “avoid detection” as the core of everything. But what does that actually look like in practice today? I’m not asking for secret stuff or step-by-step instructions, more like the big principles.
Is it mostly camouflage and moving at night, or is it more about planning routes, controlling signatures (sound/heat/light), and using tech like drones and sensors? Also curious how much of it is individual skill vs team SOPs and support (ISR, air, etc.).
If anyone can explain this at a high level—examples from history or training basics would be awesome.
