I’m looking for a realistic idea of how difficult combat diving training is (not recreational scuba). I’m in decent shape and swim a couple times a week, but I’ve never done anything like long underwater drills, buddy-breathing type stuff, or working in full kit.
What makes it hard in practice—physical conditioning, water confidence, navigation, cold, mental stress, instructors pushing you, or the gear/administrative standards? I’m not trying to get a “how-to,” just trying to understand what the day-to-day difficulty looks like and what people usually fail on. Also, does it differ a lot between units/countries or is it basically the same fundamentals everywhere?
